I stared at him, bewildered in the keenest of senses. 'Just go? Just like that?' My insides tingled at the idea. A sensation of warm excitement and adrenaline…Something I had never become accustomed to, but felt it often enough to have been; seemed to be building within me….
"Zero…" I whispered. He pulled me nearer, his breath warm on my ear…
"I have a place, they use it for hunters. We can go there for a while." He squeezed me to him and kissed me. "Away from Kaname, away from the Headmaster…" He seemed to smile, but it was gone as soon as it had arrived. I stared at him. 'What if I didn't want to go?' Something inside of me had always disagreed with that thought. 'Of course I had wanted to leave!' This place chained me to responsibility, to drama. This was something I had told myself to become accustomed to, but had had too much of it to do so.
"When?" I asked. He shook his head and stared up at the sky. His purple eyes seemed grey in the dim of the day…'Why did he do this to me? He made me want to dance in circles and kiss him all over just by looking at him! How was he capable of such magic on me? I would never know'…
"Go pack," he nibbled my ear. I shook my head and looked up at him.
"How long will we be gone?" I asked.
"As long as we want," he hugged me tightly. I sighed and looked up at the little boy who hid in the body of a man…
"For awhile," I nodded, "But we have to come back."
"I promise," he nodded. I looked down, feeling a sudden chill in my spine. What was this bad feeling I was having?
I packed my bags in a rush. 'What was I doing?' I set down my items and stared around my room. 'My friends…Kaname…the Headmaster; would they come after us?' Worst of all, leaving would mean so many dire consequences; I'd be grounded for months!
"Going somewhere?" A soft voice asked. I turned and smiled at the door.
"Only a few more minutes, alright Zero?" I grinned brightly at him. I turned and to my surprise, it was not Zero standing there. Leaning on the doorframe was a cold faced Kaname Kuran. I bit my lip.
"K-Kaname?" I frowned slightly. He smirked at me and sighed.
"When did you stop loving me?" He asked walking over with a smile. I looked down at the floor.
"Kaname I-" He brought me over to his arms so suddenly I thought I might whimper as I hit his chest. It was a soft impact, soft and fast. It whirled me out of my senses to such a degree that I hadn't noticed his lips on mine until he moaned lightly.
"I know what you're doing, Yuki," He whispered in my ear. "I'll be there when the time comes," he pulled away.
"Goodbye Yuki," he smiled lightly, "for now." I heard him snigger as he left.
